With a view to promoting continental trade, on October 29, 2024, Rwanda shipped a batch of products to Ghana under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). According to the Rwandan authorities, these exported products highlight the wealth and growing potential of Rwanda.
On October 29th, 2024, Rwanda exported a batch of agricultural products under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). According to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) the tea exported comes from the companies: Rwanda Mountain Tea and Silverback Tea, each producing 200 kilos of premium organic tea. For coffee, it comes from Pedro’s Coffee and Igire Coffee, with 200 kilos of specialty Arabica coffee each. Another Rwandan agricultural product exported on this occasion was avocado oil.

On September 25, 2024, Rwanda launched its first shipment of consolidated agricultural products to Ghana under the African Continental Free Trade Area. Products introduced to the Ghanaian market during an exhibition entitled “Taste Rwanda”, organized in Accra.

Recall, however, that Rwanda had exported its first agricultural consignment to Ghana in 2022 under the Guided Trade Initiative marking the official start of preferential trade under the AfCFTA agreement. The first shipment, however, consisted only of coffee. Moreover, in 2020, Rwanda was designated by Afreximbank as one of the countries best placed to benefit from the African single market.
