Africa: voices raised against child labor

For the first time, Africa hosted the World Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour. The fifth edition of the world conference was held in the city of Durban in South Africa. The objective of this event is to raise awareness of child labor and accelerate progress towards its elimination. From May 15 to 20, 2022, several voices, including those of children, were raised to denounce the high number of children who are forced to work instead of going to school. Indeed, 160 million children are working today, according to the latest estimates from the International Labor Organization.
