Ahmed SENHOURY is Director of the Regional Partnership for Coastal and Marine Conservation in West Africa (PRCM). Experienced in coastal engineering, program management, coastal environments, partnerships and management, he is working to take the necessary action to meet contemporary environmental challenges in West Africa.
In the field of environmental conservation, Ahmed Senhoury stands out as a key figure thanks to his role as Director of the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of the Coastal and Marine Zone in West Africa (PRCM). Holding this position since January 2019, Ahmed Senhoury has helped strengthen the organization’s role, putting forward innovative initiatives to promote coastal and marine zone conservation in West Africa.
The regional partnership for the conservation of the marine and coastal zone aims to promote the conservation of the West African coastline, its ecosystems and resources. Within this framework, the PRCM focuses on mobilizing technical, human and financial resources to promote this conservation.

Well aware of the conservation challenges facing West Africa’s coastal and marine zone, Ahmed Senhoury and his team work closely with regional and international players.
As part of our collaboration with international regional initiatives, PRCM has undertaken partnerships with several international and regional players. We have signed framework agreements with organizations such as FITI. We have a partnership with the World Bank and Uemoa for the implementation of the WACA project.

In his future actions, Ahmed Senhoury plans to step up efforts to strengthen the resilience of West African coastal ecosystems to the impacts of climate change, notably through the implementation of ecological restoration projects and the promotion of nature-based solutions.
The PRCM often intervenes using its capacities in the region, in particular, by trying to do as much advocacy and lobbying as possible, to raise awareness among stakeholders and decision-makers, but also, by implementing activities in the field, pilot actions for mangrove restoration, protection of key species emblematic of the sub-region.

Ahmed SENHOURY holds a State Doctorate in Coastal Environments, a University Doctorate in Coastal Engineering and a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and Leadership. The PRCM Director has provided leadership for several research and conservation programs in his international career. He was previously a research professor at the University of Nouakchott in Mauritania and held several positions in the Mauritanian administration.
