CANEX 2024 : promoting African know-how

Africa’s creative industries today include African fashion driven by a generation of innovative designers, local and diaspora markets, a richer film industry that goes beyond Nollywood and South African films, and musicians, actors and designers who exploit social media platforms to reach audiences directly. However, the major problem they face is funding and competitiveness on the international market.

Here we are on the second day of the 2024 Edition of the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend in Algiers, Algeria. Two highlights of the day: firstly, the announcement of a fund of 2 billions of dollars for the creative industries of fashion, film and music over the next 3 years. The second major activity was the discussion on the theme: ‘United in Culture: Prosperity through Shared Cultural Heritage’.   We are joined byAissata Sidibe who will give us her views on the discussions that have already taken place during.

This unique edition will also focus on leveraging the intra-African trade platform to make the creative industries more competitive on the international scale.
