Africa – ACTIF2025 : 1000 delegates expected in Grenada

Amid rising global uncertainty, Africa and the Caribbean are strengthening their economic ties. From 28 to 29 July 2025, St George’s in Grenada will host the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025). This strategic event, organised by Afreximbank and the Grenadian government, aims to promote trade, investment and shared growth between the two regions.

The fourth edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025), under the theme ‘Resilience and Transformation: Enhancing Africa-Caribbean Economic Cooperation in an Era of Global Uncertainty’, will be held in St George’s, Grenada, from 28 to 29 July 2025. Organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in partnership with the Government of Grenada, the event is expected to bring together heads of state, senior policymakers, private sector executives, investors and diaspora leaders, with the  aim to strengthen economic ties between Africa and the Caribbean.

We realise that the fate of all Africans, irrespective of their geographic location, race or colour, is inextricably linked in today’s world. Where might is right, the weak can only find strength in unity. Over two billion Africans worldwide now recognise that, together, they constitute a powerful economic force that cannot be ignored. They must also recognise that this power is only potent and credible if delivered on a common, cohesive platform.

With trade between Africa and the Caribbean projected to reach USD $1.8 billion by 2028, ACTIF2025 aims to promote trade, investment, and cultural exchange between the two regions. The initiative will focus on key sectors such as industrialisation, agribusiness, energy, infrastructure development, financial services, and tourism. Building on the success of ACTIF 2024, which saw over 15 deals and Memoranda of Understanding valued at over US$4 billion signed, the forum is expected to strengthen economic cooperation and drive growth in both regions.

Eleven of the fifteen CARICOM member states have joined the Afreximbank family. They have all signed a partnership treaty that grants Afreximbank the same rights and privileges as those granted to the bank by African countries under the Afreximbank establishment agreement.

In a context where Africa and the Caribbean currently trade less than 1% of their exports with each other, ACTIF 2025 emerges as a pivotal opportunity to foster strategic partnerships that will lay the foundations for a robust transatlantic economic corridor, stimulating inclusive growth, job creation, and sustainable development in both regions.
