In Algiers, Africa showcases her potential

The fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) is in full swing in Algiers until 10 September 2025. At the heart of this major event, the Country Pavilion stands out as a true continental showcase. Forty-eight African nations are presenting their industrial, agricultural and technological wealth, highlighting their unique expertise, local products, bold innovations and industrial ambitions.

Many African countries are showcasing their products at the Country Pavilion of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025). These include food items, technological innovations, handicrafts, clean energy solutions, and even transport and delivery services. The vibrant displays highlight products that are sometimes new, yet deeply representative of each country’s identity, talent, and economic potential.

From the very first day of the event, our Burundian stands were extremely popular. Buyers were very interested in our products, particularly Burundian coffee, which has an extremely appealing aroma. We also had some good tea, but we couldn’t keep it in stock because it was in such high demand at the Burundian stand. We had avocados that were almost sold out by the second day.

The Country Pavilion plays a crucial role as a catalyst for growth. It facilitates networking among African businesses, encourages the signing of trade agreements, and reinforces the vision of trade self-sufficiency across the continent.

I work in the hot beverage infusion sector using our local products. These are hot drinks with wellness and therapeutic properties. I turn them into tea bags and market them so that everyone can enjoy our local products. I am developing the value chain for ginger, which is a real gem today.  You have ginger in tea bags. You also have ginger in lozenges. They are called ginger confits.

Indeed, the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts has secured numerous contracts. We have initiated exchanges and will continue to do so, capitalising on all the contacts we have made here. You will likely see the results in the coming days.

Since its inception, the Intra-African Trade Fair has generated more than 118 billion US dollars in trade and investment agreements and attracted over 70,000 international visitors. For this fourth edition, organizers are aiming to secure an additional 44 billion US dollars in new trade and investment deals.
