Nigeria is reaffirming its industrial ambition. In Abia State, a new beverage factory is strengthening the local economic fabric. An investment of nearly 100 million dollars led by the Kadji Group through its subsidiary, Ultimum Limited. A project that combines production, job creation, and a pan-African vision. “Made in Africa” is scaling upwith the ambition to produce in Africa, for Africa, and by Africans.
In Aba, in southeastern Nigeria, the industrial landscape is undergoing a transformation. At the heart of the Osi-sioma industrial zone, a newly built factory embodies a new dynamic: that of industrialization driven by African stakeholders. Ultimum Limited, a sub-sidiary of the Kadji Group, inaugurated an ultra-modern production facility on March 25, 2026, an investment of nearly 100 million dollars. Behind this project lies a vision: that of the Kadji Group, inherited from its founder, the late Fu’a Toula Kadji De-fosso to build a strong, industrialized, and sovereign Africa. This factory reflects the Kadji Group’s clear ambition: to capture not only the Nigerian market but also the entire sub-region, through large-scale local production. As the first 100% nationally owned brewer and a co-leader in the Cameroonian market since 1972, the Kadji Group is reaching a significant milestone with this major and strategic expansion into Nigeria. With the largest consumer base on the continent, the country represents a key strategic growth turning point.
We came because we were drawn by the energy of Aba. This is one of the greatest commercial hubs in West Africa, the Japan of Africa. A place where enterprise lives in the spirit of every trader, every craftsman, every dreamer. We have long wanted to establish in the Southeast and for years, we searched for the right opportunity. But time again, conditions were not right.
WHALEN KADJI, Chairman of Ultimum Ltd. and representative of the Kadji Group
Launched in 2022, Ultimum Limited has quickly established its presence. Its brand Razzl is already gaining ground in the market, with seven product lines and four flavors, including an innovation: grapefruit.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, join me in celebrating the leaders and pathfinders of Kadji Group, the investment team behind Ultimum Beverages for their confidence in the Aba business ecosystem and its network of advantages.
ALEX OTTI, Governor of Abia State
And the ambitions go far beyond Nigeria. Ultimum Limited is now targeting a continental market estimated at 1.55 billion consumers. A bold but deliberate move: produce locally, create value on the ground, and foster the emergence of African champions. A strategic investment that reflects a new reality—the continent’s industrialization is no longer driven sole-ly from the outside, but increasingly by its own players. The Kadji Group fully intends to be one of its driving forces.
