Cameroon : Banana Exports Up 22.4% in March 2026

Cameroon’s banana exports reached 23,977 tonnes in March 2026, marking a 22.4% year-on-year increase, according to the Cameroon Banana Association. This growth was driven mainly by PHP (17,850 tonnes, up 29.2%) and CDC (3,822 tonnes, up 7.6%). The sector generated CFA67.7 billion in revenue in 2025, confirming its strategic role in the national economy. As the country’s third-largest non-oil export product, the banana industry employs more than 15,000 people and aligns with the goals of the SND30 development strategy, which aims to raise production to 500,000 tonnes by 2030, compared with around 210,000 tonnes currently.
