A total of 359 Rwandan refugees were repatriated from Goma to Rwanda by the UNHCR as part of a voluntary return programme. Most of those concerned had been living in the territories of Masisi and Rutshuru since their arrival in 1994, during the Rwandan genocide, including people born in the DRC to Rwandan parents as well as individuals who arrived as children during that period.
