DR Congo: Senate unanimously adopts the bill on the organization of a referendum.

The Senate of the Democratic Republic of the Congo unanimously adopted, on June 15, the bill governing the organization of referendums, following its approval by the National Assembly. Backed by all 89 senators present, the legislation has nevertheless sparked strong opposition criticism, with opponents arguing it could pave the way for constitutional amendments that may enable President Félix Tshisekedi to seek a third term.
