On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne, celebrated on July 30, 2026, King Mohammed VI outlined the key priorities for the next phase of Morocco’s development. In his address to the nation, the monarch emphasized political and institutional stability as the primary driver of the Kingdom’s growth, while also calling for continued reforms, strengthened public governance, and the consolidation of economic and social achievements.

The King praised the country’s economic performance, with growth projected at 4.9% in 2025 and favorable prospects for 2026, as well as the progress made in the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and agri-food sectors. He also highlighted Morocco’s leading position as the top automotive exporter in Africa, with a production capacity of approximately one million vehicles per year. King Mohammed VI also called for strengthening the Kingdom’s strategic sovereignty in key sectors such as cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, defense, and green hydrogen.

On the sidelines of this celebration, King Mohammed VI granted a royal pardon to 1,788 people convicted by various Moroccan courts. This measure concerns 1,679 prisoners and 109 individuals at liberty, who benefit from sentence reductions or commutations in accordance with the tradition observed during Throne Day. Finally, the monarch advocated for a new cycle of development based on investment, support for SMEs, innovation, exports, and the continuation of social protection programs.
