The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has urged Ugandan authorities to end the crackdown on opposition figures, journalists, human rights defenders, and civil society organizations. The UN says civic space has continued to shrink, citing arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, acts of torture, and the suspension of several organizations since the beginning of the year.
