Against a backdrop of shifting global geopolitical balances and persistent security and development challenges, African states are being called upon to rethink their cooperation mechanisms and strategies for engaging with the international community. Diplomacy, regional integration and economic partnerships are emerging as essential levers to accelerate the continent’s transformation. In this interview, Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, President of the Institute of Pan-African Strategies in Senegal, analyzes current trends in African cooperation and ways to strengthen its effectiveness in support of development and economic growth.
