The UN Security Council has unanimously extended the arms embargo on Darfur for one month, as discussions continue over its possible expansion to the whole of Sudan. Russia opposes the extension, while the war between the Sudanese army and paramilitary forces continues to worsen the humanitarian crisis in the country.
