The African Union Commission on Sunday denied having accused Egypt of being involved in tensions in Ethiopia. It clarified that its call for restraint, addressed to Ethiopia, Egypt and Eritrea, was aimed at preventing a regional escalation and promoting diplomatic dialogue. The AU reaffirmed its commitment to the sovereignty of its member states and to non-interference in their internal affairs.
