The countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) have taken a new step toward deeper integration with the installation, on August 24, 2026, in Niamey, of 45 confederal members of parliament, including 15 representatives from each member state. The inaugural session marks the beginning of the establishment of the AES Confederal Parliament.
