East African Community (EAC) agriculture ministers, meeting in Dar es Salaam, have adopted a 2026–2035 regional investment plan aimed at strengthening food security and building sustainable agrifood systems. The programme includes investments in agricultural infrastructure, climate resilience, digital technologies, regional trade, and measures to support the rice sector while improving sanitary and phytosanitary standards.
