Algeria continues its commitment to the economic and political integration of the African continent. The country once again demonstrated its solidarity by celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), whose 45th summit was held in Madagascar on August 17.
Algeria reaffirms its support for African integration. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Southern African Community, Algerian authorities praised the efforts made by SADC towards regional economic integration and sustainable development. The festivities took place at the headquarters of the Madagascar embassy in Algiers, more than 7,700 km from Antananarivo, where the 45th summit of heads of state and government of the said organization was held on August 17.
“Today, SADC stands out as a true model of regional integration through ambitious, cross-border projects reflecting a shared vision for building a more united and prosperous future. In this dynamic, the African Union’s Agenda 2063 continues to call for ambitious and transformative action that reflects the aspirations of the peoples of our continent. This ambition is eloquently reflected in the African Continental Free Trade Area, which constitutes a central lever for economic and social transformation in Africa”
