Cameroon : Paul BIYA wins with 53.66% of votes

The Constitutional Council of Cameroon announced on October 27, 2025, the results of the presidential election held on October 12, 2025. The CPDM candidate, Paul Biya, won the election with 53.66% of the vote, while CNSF candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary received 35.19%. re-elected as head of Cameroon for a seven-year term, President Paul Biya has already outlined the main priorities of his new mandate. He intends to focus decisively on youth, Cameroonian women, and accelerating development through modern infrastructure in health, energy, education, and road networks.

President Paul Biya frames the new term under the theme of Greatness and Hope; a vision aimed at strengthening the building of a Cameroon confident in its future, committed to modernizing its infrastructure, and dedicated to the development of its youth and women.

“We will show more creativity and resourcefulness to support the socio-economic integration and self-employment of our young compatriots. We will also make training more professional at all levels of education to better match education with the job market.”

Access to water and energy, employment, and healthcare— the president also intends to tackle the challenges in these crucial sectors, which account for much of citizens’ frustrations. The Head of State has also committed to placing a strong focus on road infrastructure during the next term.

“I am also aware of your expectations regarding infrastructure, whether in roads, energy, education, or healthcare. A lot has already been done in these areas, both here and elsewhere. The paved road network has continued to grow over the years and now reaches nearly 10,700 kilometers. These efforts will continue.”
