Cameroun – 15Th Fashion Professions Summit : First lady C. Biya enhances the closing of fashion forum

The First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal BIYA, guest of honor of the Cameroon Fashion Designers Center (CCMC), on the occasion of the Closing Gala of the 15th edition of the Forum of Fashion and Design Professions closed on 23 November 2024, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé, consolidated its constant support and accompaniment to young creators, with a view to the emergence of Cameroonian fashion and design in the space international.Organized under the co-sponsorship of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Crafts, the French Embassy, ​​and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Cameroon, this gala was a great moment of exhibition of the know-how and immense talent of Cameroonian modelers.

In Cameroon, the first lady Chantal Biya marked her presence at the closing of the 15th edition of the fashion and design professions forum on November 23, 2024. This forum, which is organized to promote the know-how of artisans Cameroonians as well as the talents of young creators who dare to live their passion thus saw the presence of the first lady of Cameroon. In the world of fashion, first lady Chantal Biya popularized several clothing styles, African fashion having been marked by her exotic dresses full of bright colors.

“I was inspired by non-biodegradable works, precisely all what has to do with plastic, which pollutes nature, so I worked in partnership with Nigerians to be able to create my bags. These bags are made with beads from recycled objects”

Conceived and founded in 2009, the forum for fashion and design professions helps to support and professionalize project leaders who have the knowledge, creativity and skills essential to become real players in the influence of fashion and crafts in Cameroon and around the world. This forum makes it possible to develop, through workshops, the influence of Cameroonian national creation internationally. It is also an incubator for young designers.
