Central African Republic : 36 tons of equipment ordered for Caucus 2025

The Minister of Finance and Budget, Hervé NDOBA, received 36 tonnes of equipment for the organisation of the African Caucus 2025 on Thursday 24 July at Bangui Mpoko International Airport. The equipment consists of large reception tents, both for receiving guests at the airport and for the event itself, as well as technical equipment. The arrival of this equipment represents an extremely important step for the organisers.

This cargo plane, which landed on the runway at Bangui MPOKO International Airport on Thursday, 24 July 2025, carried 36 tonnes of freight destined for the African Caucus organisation. The arrival of this equipment reassures the organisers and represents a decisive step in the preparations for this high-level meeting.

Listen, this is an extremely important step because, as you know, the African Caucus is being held from 30 July to 2 August, and we were very concerned for the simple reason that this equipment was supposed to arrive much earlier, since it had been ordered initially to be shipped by sea. You can therefore understand our emotion and satisfaction that this equipment, which was supposed to arrive several weeks ago and has been scheduled to arrive by air freight for the past few days, has finally arrived in Bangui. This demonstrates all the infrastructural and logistical challenges we face and therefore brings back to the table the priority of these issues, which we must address as a matter of urgency within the framework of this African Caucus.

Hervé NDOBA, Minister of Finance and BudgetCentral African Republic

To organise this large-scale event, the Central African Republic has ordered customised equipment so that it can welcome the 500 participants expected in Bangui in a few days’ time in the best possible conditions.

This is an important event that we are not used to hosting, so we don’t have the necessary equipment available in Bangui. We therefore had to order custom-made equipment for the event, which will host around 500 people with specific needs, including interpreters for several languages, etc. So what we have today arriving in this cargo ship are large reception tents for both the reception of guests at the airport and for the event itself. Then there is all the technical equipment, i.e. lighting equipment, giant screens, 70 square metres of giant screens, sound equipment, and all the marketing tools, i.e. specific decorative equipment bearing the Caucus 2025 logo, approximately 100 cubic metres.

Marc MANDABA, National Focal Point for the African Caucus 2025

The arrival of this equipment was delayed by more than a month and a half due to several factors, including US customs policy, which significantly disrupted transport between China and the United States. Technical teams are already hard at work setting up tents and finalising the last details ahead of the opening of the Caucus on Wednesday 30 July.
