Chad : Six districts of N’Djamena identified as vulnerable

On April 13, 2026, the municipality of N’Djamena launched flood prevention activities in the city’s first district ahead of the rainy season. The operation brings together local authorities and volunteers to clean drainage systems, rehabilitate waterways, and develop vulnerable areas. According to the city council, these actions are part of an ongoing initiative implemented for over a month across various districts to reduce flood risks in the Chadian capital. The emergency plan primarily targets six out of the city’s ten districts considered the most vulnerable.
