In Côte d’Ivoire, the Parti démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire (Pdci-Rda), through its president Tidjane Thiam, has appealed to its militants and the population as a whole to take part in the electoral roll revision operation. Touring the various communes of Abidjan, the politician reiterated the importance of revising the list in the 2025 electoral process.

We’ve done Yopougon, Attécoubé and Adjamé, and today we’re going to do Bingerville, Cocody and Abobo, so we’re going to do Abidjan Sud with the same message, which is to make people aware of the importance of registering and voting. It’s a question of civic-mindedness, not even a political issue, it’s about the future of the country.

Tidjane Thiam, President of Pdci-Rda

Since the start of the electoral roll revision operation on 19 October, the candidate in the October 2025 presidential election has been making repeated appeals to register en masse, arguing that ‘the ballot paper is the key that opens all doors.

We salute our party president who came to see for himself how the windings are going. He saw that in Cocody, people are coming to take off.

Jean Marc Yacé, Pdci-Rda Cocody executive

The West African country’s Independent Electoral Commission also recorded more than 113,000 new applications for registration and 86,000 requests to update personal data. This 5th revision of the electoral roll follows those carried out in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2020 since the first biometric roll was drawn up in 2010.
