Appointed to head Afreximbank at a pivotal moment for the continent’s economic integration, George Elombi embodies a new stage in the consolidation of intra-African trade. A key player in the bank’s institutional strategy for several years, he approaches his presidency with a clear desire to intensify trade flows, particularly within the CEMAC, a region where trade potential remains largely untapped. From this perspective, the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) appears to be a structuring instrument, serving the AfCFTA. In this edition of Decryptage, George Elombi shares his vision of Afreximbank as an institution focused on continuity and innovation.
