Guinea : launch of operations at the Simandou integrated mining project on November 11, 2025

The launch ceremony for the Simandou integrated mining and infrastructure mega-project will take place on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at the port of Morebaya.

The Republic of Guinea is thus bringing one of President Mamadi Doumbouya’s flagship projects to fruition by shipping the first vessel containing minerals from the Simandou Mega Project.

Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Simandou Strategic Committee, Mr Djiba Diakité, the organising team, comprising the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr Mourana Soumah, Chairman of the Organising Committee, and
the Minister of Industry and SMEs, Dr Diaka Sidibé, all members of the Strategic Committee, contributed to transforming the new port site of Morebaya into a major symbol for the development of Guinea and Africa in mining exploration and infrastructure creation. »
