Martha Muhwezi is the Executive Director of the Forum for Educational Women Educationalists (FAWE) Africa. Martha is a programme management specialist and senior development worker with over 25 years of experience in the civil society sector at national, regional and international levels. She is a holder of a doctorate degree (PhD) in Gender Studies from the University of Nairobi. Prior to joining FAWE Africa, Martha served in Uganda as a Technical Advisor for almost three years. Martha has distinguished herself in the management and supervision of major projects in education, HIV/AIDS and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) programmes. With a wide range of experience in gender mainstreaming, gender budgeting and audit backed up, Martha advocates gender equality across the African continent.
