Manganese production in Gabon continued to decline for the third consecutive year in 2025, reaching 9.1 million tonnes, a 2.5% decrease compared to 2024 with 9.4 million tonnes, according to the Directorate General of Economy and Fiscal Planning. Although the sector recorded a rebound of 10.8% in the fourth quarter, particularly at the Moanda and Franceville sites, these gains were limited by logistical challenges, especially along the Transgabonais railway route to Owendo, as well as administrative bottlenecks. For 2026, improving logistics is considered crucial to supporting the sector’s performance.
