The Electoral Commission of Ghana is assuring the international community that it will do all within its powers to ensure that the country’s Presidential and parliamentary elections which is due in less than a hundred days will be free, fair and transparent. Describing the country as a beacon of democracy for Africa, Deputy Chairman of the commission Dr. Bossman Asare is confident that Ghana will once again show demonstrate its democracy consolidation to the world
In less than 100 days over 16 million voters in Ghana will head to the polls for presidential and parliamentary elections. After an exhibiting a provisional register across all voting centers in the country, the Electoral commission of Ghana says it now aiming at the delivering a free fair and peace election on December 7
“We want to urge the international community and also inform them that the Electoral C is fully ready for another peaceful process, we are fully ready for another transparent process. All those who want to come and witness our elections all those who want to come and observe they should come because Ghana is a beacon Ghana has a pedigree when it comes to organizing democratic elections and this electoral commission will ensure that we maintain that and so do we urge all staff,our stakeholders to also themselves well so that together we can achieve another successful milestone ”

In the last few years the Economic Community for west African States ECOWAS has expressed worry over the decline in Democracy across the sub region. It however remains hopeful that Ghana’s process will remain peaceful and transparent. Commenting on the regional development, Dr. Asare indicated that his outfit will do all it can to ensure a free and fair elections come December 7
“At the EC we recognize that we are the best when it comes to organizing presidential, parliamentary elections not just in west Africa but beyond and this is a standard we have maintain for many years. We do expect that 2024 will be much better. In 2020 all the observers who came they gave the EC a thumbs up and we think that we want to continue on that tangent and so we are going to do everything possible whatever is necessary, what is proper so that we ensure that the 2024 elections is very peaceful very transparent as well as inclusive”
