Following the recent meeting between Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Ghana has announced a historic opening. France is said to be ready to engage in discussions with a coalition of African countries calling for reparations for transatlantic slavery. This position from France comes after the United Nations adopted a resolution describing slavery as a major crime against humanity and calling for reparations.
