The Libyan House of Representatives has reaffirmed its opposition to any initiative aimed at permanently settling illegal migrants on national territory, citing sovereignty and security concerns. In a statement, the Defense and Security Committee warned against any project that could affect the country’s demographic balance and identity, recalling that migration management falls exclusively under national legislation.
