Starting in July 2026, Malagasy civil servants will receive a monthly housing allowance of 200,000 ariary (about 48 USD) to help offset the impact of rising living costs. Announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Madagascar, the measure—already included in the 2026 budget law—will apply to all public sector employees. It is part of a broader set of salary support policies aimed at improving civil servants’ purchasing power.
