The President of the National Independent Electoral Commission (Commission électorale nationale indépendante (CENI)), Thierry Rakotonarivo, has outlined the main features of the 2027 electoral calendar. According to the projections presented in Anosy during the swearing-in ceremony of the new members of the institution, a constitutional referendum on the establishment of the Fifth Republic is planned for June 2027, ahead of the presidential election scheduled for October of the same year.
