SADC commits to supporting the Refoundation process following its 46th summit held on August 17, 2026, in Durban, South Africa. The summit also elected South African President Cyril Ramaphosa as SADC chair, with Zambia’s president as incoming chair, while King Mswati III of Eswatini was appointed to head the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation.
