Madagascar and France have signed two agreements aimed at strengthening their military cooperation. The first focuses on enhancing the reconnaissance drone capabilities of the Malagasy Armed Forces, while the second renews the partnership between Madagascar’s 2nd Marine Infantry Battalion and France’s 5th Foreign Regiment based in Mayotte. The agreements are intended to improve force interoperability and strengthen their capacity to address shared security challenges in the Indian Ocean region.
