Following his release, former Malian Prime Minister Moussa Mara called for unity, forgiveness, and national reconciliation. In a statement issued from Bamako, he urged Malians to move beyond divisions and work together to rebuild the country, while expressing concern over the disappearance of his lawyer and political ally, Me Mountaga Tall.
