Morocco Africa-Interview: Anas Charafi, Executive Director of AGIA Project Development Fund at Africa50 : «There is a huge, huge bottleneck on the continent in terms of availability of project development capital. »

The continent faces a historic challenge: accelerating its energy transition while addressing its infrastructure deficit. Although global capital is available, the real bottleneck remains financing projects at their early stages. To break through this barrier, the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa (AGIA) Fund, backed by Africa50, has made a major breakthrough at the Dar es Salaam Forum by securing an additional $50 million from major European partners. To understand how this funding will concretely transform Africa’s energy landscape, from large-scale solar parks to PPP transmission networks, Africa 24 is joined today by a key player in this effort. Good morning, Mr. Anas Charafi. You are the Executive Director of the AGIA Project Development Fund at Africa50.
