Burundi has reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s sovereignty over all its territory, including the Sahara, following talks in Rabat between the two countries’ foreign ministers. Bujumbura also renewed its backing for Morocco’s autonomy plan, describing it as the only credible and realistic solution to the regional dispute, while supporting UN efforts to achieve a lasting political settlement. Burundi further welcomed UN Security Council Resolution 2797, reinforcing its support for the Moroccan initiative on the Sahara.
