Mozambique: Agreement with Zambia to strengthen border security

Meeting in Livingstone from June 22 to 25, 2026, the immigration services of Mozambique and Zambia adopted a joint action plan aimed at strengthening integrated management of their shared border and improving technical cooperation. The two countries agreed to carry out a joint border assessment by the fourth quarter of 2026 to identify new official crossing points and enhance efforts to combat irregular entry, while continuing to harmonize mechanisms for the movement of people and goods.
