Mozambique : Entry into force of cybercrime and cybersecurity laws

President Daniel Chapo has promulgated the cybercrime and cybersecurity laws aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens, institutions, and digital infrastructure. The text provides for a regulatory authority and penalties of up to 160 minimum wages, as well as a mechanism to combat online offenses. The head of state also approved reforms of the national payments system and the order of accountants and auditors to modernize the financial framework.
