Senegal – presidential election : Amadou Ba commits to major socio-economic changes

On March 14, 2024, the caravan of Benno Bokk Yakaar coalition candidate Amadou Ba made a stopover in Podor in northern Senegal, marking a crucial moment in the election campaign. During the event, Amadou Ba announced major commitments in the areas of the economy, infrastructure and youth employment.

At the heart of his promises is a commitment to opening up the region. Amadou Ba announced the construction of a number of high-level infrastructures to link Podor more effectively to the rest of the country. This initiative is designed to boost the region’s economic and social development, offering new prospects for its inhabitants.

« Podor is a landlocked area, so making it landlocked will be one of the first projects I’ll be implementing. This will facilitate access and traffic flow. The department is very vast. We’ve started building a large hospital in Dioum. In addition to that, we’ll be building other infrastructures, including a departmental stadium. »

In addition to this commitment to infrastructure, Amadou Ba also emphasized job creation for young people. Aware of the challenges facing young people, the candidate pledged to set up programs to provide employment and training opportunities for the region’s youth. This measure aims to combat unemployment and encourage the professional development of Podor’s young people.

« I winked at young people. Over the next five years, I’m going to invest a lot in young people. As such, I will be the president of the republic of youth employment. Racine, who is an investor, knows the importance of an employee in a company. To that end, we need thousands of employees and entrepreneurs here in the Podor department. »
