South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered an emergency plan to strengthen efforts to combat gender-based violence and femicide following the discovery of 11 women’s bodies in Ekurhuleni since July. The measures include an audit of unresolved cases, efforts to reduce delays in forensic analyses, and security audits in municipalities.
