South Sudanese President Salva Kiir opened an inter-party dialogue on September 24, 2026, in Juba, aimed at defining a path toward a “peaceful and credible” election. The initiative comes after eight opposition groups in exile rejected the process, citing a political and constitutional crisis and calling for regional intervention to organize a national and inclusive process.
