Sudan has rejected new sanctions imposed by the United States, describing them as “unilateral and illegal”. Khartoum denies accusations of chemical weapons use by the Sudanese army and condemns measures based on “false allegations”. The sanctions include restrictions on financial assistance, international loans and US exports to the country.
