Rwanda is a country that is regularly praised for its economic performance. According to data from the Data Bank, Rwanda’s real GDP grew by 9.7% in the first quarter of 2024, surpassing the 8.2% growth rate of 2023 and far outstripping its neighbours in the sub-region. To understand this performance and analyse how the country fits into the implementation of the AfCFTA, we talk to Prudence Sebahizi, Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry.
