Twenty young Cameroonians, graduates of the Institute of Economics and Finance – Regional Hub (IEF-PR) of CEMAC, are now joining the financial administrations. Their mission: to strengthen treasury, tax, and customs management, and contribute to better mobilization of state resources, as the country continues its administrative reforms and faces governance challenges.
In Cameroon, the modernization of public financial management also relies on training. Cameroonian graduates from the 8th cohort of the Institute of Economics and Finance, Regional Hub, have received their diplomas. Trained to join financial administrations, these new officials are expected to strengthen state resource mobilization in a context of ongoing reforms and persistent challenges. A formal ceremony marked the completion of training for these young professionals destined to join financial administrations.
Financial administrations consist of a range of professions that enable a state to mobilize financial resources. These include customs and tax services on one side, and the treasury and budget on the other. These are the personnel we are handing over today to the Cameroonian public administration .
JACQUINOT VOUNDI, Director General of IEF – Regional Hub
A total of 20 Cameroonians are among more than 300 trainees trained across countries of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community. The training focuses on rigor, performance, and international standards, key skills as financial administrations remain at the core of public policy. Their role: to secure state revenues, improve traceability, and support ongoing modernization.
I feel very grateful for the experience and time I spent there in libreville and i know that i’m going to use all the skills given to me by my mentors to give a plus to our country.
NGONO NGOLE KIMBERLY, Laureat
Despite ongoing reforms, Cameroon faces persistent challenges: insufficient revenue mobilization, tax fraud, administrative delays, and increasing demands for transparency. In this context, the government is relying on these new profiles to support digitalization, notably through tools such as the Aigle system, designed to modernize public management.
Dear graduates, your country now expects a great deal from you. It expects you to put your knowledge, skills, and energy at the service of the common good. You represent a valuable human resource for our State.
JOSEPH LE , Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform
With the integration of these new officials, Cameroon continues the modernization of its public administration. A reform marked by the digitalization of procedures, the deployment of tools such as Aigle system for managing public employees, and a commitment to improving transparency and service performance.
