In Algeria, the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE) has set midnight on June 6, 2026, as the deadline for submitting new candidacies for the legislative elections scheduled for July 2. Meeting under the chairmanship of Karim Khelfane, the Authority’s Council also reviewed the progress of candidate file validation and the handling of appeals lodged before administrative courts, in order to rule on electoral lists affected by rejected candidacies.
