Mozambique: Entry into force of laws on cybercrime and cybersecurity

President Daniel Chapo has promulgated laws on cybersecurity and cybercrime aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens, institutions, and digital infrastructure. The legislation provides, among other measures, for the creation of a regulatory body and penalties that can reach up to 160 times the minimum wage for certain offenses. The framework is intended to address the rise in online threats and secure the country’s digital environment.
