Prisca Roseline Mano was elected mayor of Bangui on 17 June, winning 30 votes against 29 for her rival Adrienne Portia Deya-Abazène in a closely contested municipal ballot involving 59 councillors. Three elected officials did not take part in the vote, including two suspended members and one absentee.
