Guinea : 10-year prison sentence requested on appeal against former Defense Minister Mohamed Diané

Guinea’s Special Prosecutor’s Office at the CRIEF has requested a 10-year prison sentence and a fine of 50 billion Guinean francs against former Defense Minister Mohamed Diané, who is being prosecuted for embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment and money laundering. The former official under Alpha Condé’s regime, sentenced to five years in prison at first instance, is now in the decisive phase of his appeal trial.
