The third edition of Oil Days will take place in Dubai from May 28 to 31, 2025. Organized by the consulting firm 3M Partners et Conseils, this year’s theme revolves around « Negotiation and Monitoring of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). » Around ten countries from Central Africa, West Africa, and the Indian Ocean are expected to attend this event, which aims to serve as a major platform for discussions on the common challenges facing African stakeholders in the hydrocarbons sector.
From May 28 to 31, 2025, Dubai will host the third edition of Oil Days, building on the success of the 2024 edition, which brought together over a hundred participants from diverse backgrounds. As a key hub for strategic dialogue and collaborative thinking, this event is part of an ongoing effort to promote best practices and develop innovative solutions in the management of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs).
« We are engaged in various multifaceted initiatives, including the oil Days designed to elucidate oil contract mechanisms and particularly their economic implications for nations. «
Gacyen Mouely Mouanga, Managing Partner of 3M-Partners & Conseils – Gabon
Having addressed « The Impact of Audits in Managing PSCs » in the first edition and explored « The Influence of PSCs on National Economies » in 2024, this third edition will focus on a critical issue: « Negotiation and Monitoring of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). » With crude oil reserves estimated at over 125 billion barrels and a daily production nearing 6.4 million barrels (according to the International Energy Agency), Africa still faces significant challenges in negotiating and overseeing oil contracts, often characterized by imbalances and poor management.
« The theme of this 3rd edition focuses on the negotiation and monitoring of Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). These are two fundamental pillars for securing favorable contracts. Why? Because negotiation enables the establishment of sustainable and multifaceted benefits over time, throughout the entire contract lifecycle, while monitoring ensures the effective implementation of previously negotiated advantages. »
Gacyen Mouely Mouanga, Managing Partner of 3M-Partners & Conseils – Gabon
Launched in 2023 by African consulting firm 3M-Partners & Conseils, the oil days continues its mission of facilitating strategic analysis on critical issues surrounding Production Sharing Contracts. This high-level meeting is expected to draw over one hundred participants from ten countries, including Gabon, Chad, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Comoros, Republic of Congo, and Senegal.
